EXCLUSIVE: “He was a quiet, introverted person” says roommate UCF suicide victim

Arabo “BK” Babakhani, a man identifying himself as the roommate of the former UCF student who committed suicide today says the man he calls his roommate pointed a gun at his face this morning before committing suicide. He said James Oliver Seevakumaran usually avoided eye contact, except when Seevakumara put a gun in his face late Sunday night.

“BK” told Knightly News reporter Christie Jauch he slammed his door shut to protect himself. “As he was raising the gun, he didn’t get it all the way up… I slammed the door on him before he could pop anything off,” he said. He continued to protect himself in his room, hiding behind his furniture. “I got away from the door in case he barred into it. I crouched in front of my chair in case he fired into the door. I crouched in front of my chest of draws In case he fired into a wall,” he said.

Here’s the raw transcript of the interview:

Knightly News: “Wait so I heard… he pulled the fire alarm so you would come out…so then why didn’t he shoot you?”
BK: “As he was raising the gun, like, he didn’t get it all the way up… He said… I slammed the door on him before he could pop anything off.”

BK: I wasn’t shocked. I just saw what was going on, and I was like, I’m not getting out like that.

Knightly News: You  crouched in front of your drawers?
BK: In front of my chest of drawers. For like a barrier between… And the wall. Um. I don’t know what kind of gun he had. I saw like, a rifle. An assault rifle.
Knightly News: They had a  handgun and a .22 rifle. …
BK: I didn’t see a handgun. I just had like a black gun.
